Emax & Ceramic Restorations
When aesthetics are the top priority, lithium disilicate (IPS e.max) delivers the translucency, color depth, and natural vitality that patients notice and clinicians demand. Peak Dental Studio fabricates Emax Crowns, Emax Veneers, Emax Inlays, and Emax Post and Core restorations — each designed with the precision of a prosthodontist-founded lab that understands how light interacts with dental ceramics to create results indistinguishable from natural teeth.
Our Emax & Ceramic Products
Emax Crown — The Gold Standard for Anterior Aesthetics
Our Emax Crown is fabricated from IPS e.max lithium disilicate with flexural strength exceeding 400 MPa — strong enough for premolar and anterior applications while delivering the translucency that zirconia cannot match. Available in both pressed and milled fabrication methods, each Emax Crown is shade-matched and individually finished by our ceramists. Pressed Emax Crowns allow for custom characterization and layered effects, while milled options provide consistent results for straightforward posterior cases.
Emax Veneer — Smile Transformations with Minimal Prep
Emax Veneers are our recommendation for cosmetic smile makeovers, diastema closures, and cases requiring changes to tooth shape, size, or color. The material’s chameleon effect allows ultra-thin veneers (as thin as 0.3mm in some cases) to blend seamlessly with surrounding natural tooth structure. We fabricate Emax Veneers with precise incisal edge characterization, surface texture, and translucency gradients that replicate the optical properties of natural enamel — because your patients will see these restorations every time they look in the mirror.
Emax Inlay — Conservative Posterior Restorations
When full-coverage crowns aren’t indicated but composite fillings won’t last, Emax Inlays provide the ideal conservative restoration for posterior teeth. Our CAD/CAM-designed Emax Inlays preserve maximum natural tooth structure while delivering the strength, wear resistance, and aesthetics that direct composites cannot match long-term. Ideal for large Class II restorations, MOD preparations, and cases where patients want tooth-colored restorations that will outlast direct fillings.
Emax Post and Core — Endodontic Foundations
For endodontically treated teeth requiring core buildup before crown placement, our Emax Post and Core provides a tooth-colored foundation that eliminates the dark show-through associated with metal posts under all-ceramic crowns. This is especially critical for anterior teeth where thin gingival tissue or translucent Emax Crowns would reveal a metal substructure. The result is a seamless transition from post to core to crown with no gray lines or shadow at the gingival margin.
PFZ — Porcelain Fused to Zirconia
Our PFZ restorations combine a high-strength zirconia coping with hand-layered feldspathic porcelain, offering a hybrid approach for cases that need more strength than pure lithium disilicate but more aesthetics than monolithic zirconia. PFZ is particularly effective for anterior bridges where the framework must span an edentulous area while the facial surface requires the artistry of hand-layered ceramics.
When to Choose Emax Over Zirconia
The choice between Emax and zirconia depends on the clinical scenario:
Choose Emax Crown when: Maximum translucency is needed for anterior teeth, the patient has high aesthetic expectations, the preparation allows adequate material thickness (1.0-1.5mm), and occlusal forces are moderate.
Choose Emax Veneer when: Minimal-prep or no-prep cosmetic changes are planned, multiple anterior teeth need matching, or the case involves smile design changes to shape, size, or color.
Choose Emax Inlay when: The posterior preparation is conservative (no cusp involvement), the patient wants tooth-colored results, and long-term wear resistance is important.
Choose Emax Post and Core when: An endodontically treated tooth needs a metal-free foundation under an all-ceramic crown, especially in the anterior zone.
Choose Zirconia instead when: Fracture resistance above 400 MPa is needed, the tooth is a posterior molar under heavy occlusal load, or the patient is a known bruxer.
Fabrication Process
Every Emax restoration begins with digital design from your intraoral scan or our digitized model. We accept files from 3Shape, iTero (ID: 22376), CEREC, Medit, and TRIOS. Our design team optimizes contours, contacts, and occlusion in the virtual environment before selecting the ideal fabrication method — pressed or milled — based on case complexity and aesthetic requirements. Each restoration is individually stained, glazed, and finished by our ceramists before passing through quality control inspection.
Turnaround and Pricing
Standard turnaround for Emax restorations is two weeks from case receipt. Rush service is available for urgent cases. UPS 2nd Day Air return shipping is included with every case. Diagnostic Wax-Ups and Smile Design Wax-Ups are available for treatment planning complex anterior cases before committing to final restorations — giving both clinician and patient confidence in the planned outcome.
