Cosmetic Dental Lab for Veneer, Smile Design & Esthetic Cases

Cosmetic Dental Lab for High-Stakes Esthetic Cases

Built for cosmetic dentists who can’t afford a remake. One named ceramist owns every case from digital design through final stain.

Why the Lab Choice Matters Most on Cosmetic Cases

When the case sits above the lip line, the lab choice decides the outcome. For routine posterior crowns, most labs deliver acceptable results. However, anterior esthetics is a different game. Here, every shade decision and line angle compounds into the final outcome that the patient sees in the mirror every day.

Peak Dental Studio is a cosmetic dental laboratory purpose-built for these high-stakes cases. Specifically, we focus on anterior veneers, single-tooth shade matching, full-mouth esthetic rehabilitation, and smile-design work where patients pay private fee and the result becomes a reputation case.

We are not a high-volume commodity lab that also “does cosmetic.” Instead, cosmetic and esthetic anterior work is the lab’s primary product line. Furthermore, every cosmetic case runs through the Signature Veneers and Signature Crown & Bridge workflows. As a result, the same ceramist who designs the wax-up also stains the final restoration.

Why Peak Is Built for Cosmetic Cases

Single-technician case ownership

A pooled production lab can produce a perfect single-unit posterior crown. However, it cannot consistently produce a perfect anterior veneer case. Anterior esthetics depend on small choices — translucency, value, characterization, line angle.

Specifically, those choices compound into the final result. When five technicians touch the case, the choices get inconsistent. In contrast, when one ceramist owns the case end to end, the choices stay coherent.

Diagnostic wax-ups, mock-ups, and try-in stages

Multi-unit anterior cases are not single-shot fabrications. Therefore, we build digital wax-ups and 3D-printed mock-ups for chairside try-in. We also offer bisque-stage try-ins where indicated.

As a result, the patient sees the projected outcome before the prep is final. Meanwhile, the practice closes the case with confidence at the consult.

For more on this workflow, see Diagnostic Wax-Ups & Treatment Planning.

Material selection per case, not per default

Every cosmetic case gets the right material for the indication, not a default selection.

  • e.max (lithium disilicate) for anterior veneers and translucency-driven cases
  • Pressed feldspathic porcelain for highest-end esthetic single-units when light transmission matters most
  • PEAK Zirconia™ multi-layered formulations for full-mouth rehab cases that combine anterior esthetics with posterior strength

Additionally, we run honest case review at submission. If the wrong material is specified for the case, we flag it before fabrication starts.

Prosthodontic clinical oversight

The Signature line is built under the clinical guidance of Dr. Kellen McWhorter, prosthodontist. Cosmetic cases that require treatment planning beyond fabrication get prosthodontic case review on request.

Case Planning, Shade Communication, and First-Time Seating

The most expensive failure on a cosmetic case is not a remake. Instead, it is a delivery the patient accepts but isn’t happy with. Therefore, we reduce that risk in three ways.

Pre-fabrication case review

Every multi-unit anterior case gets reviewed against the diagnostic wax-up before fabrication. As a result, issues are flagged back to the practice before any porcelain is pressed. For more on case review, see Dental Lab Case Planning.

Documented shade-photography protocol

Every cosmetic case requires shade photographs in two lighting conditions. Additionally, each case needs a documented shade-tab match. We provide branded shade-photography handouts to active accounts.

Try-in stages built into the workflow

3D-printed mock-ups are standard on smile-design cases. Likewise, bisque try-ins are standard on full-mouth rehab. Consequently, the patient sees the case before final processing — and so do we.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Peak Dental Studio a true cosmetic dental laboratory?

Yes. The Signature Veneers and Signature Crown & Bridge lines are core product, not side categories. Cosmetic cases are built under single-ceramist case ownership. Additionally, each case runs through diagnostic wax-up, mock-up, and try-in stages where indicated.

What’s the difference between a cosmetic dental lab and a full-service dental lab?

A full-service lab fabricates every category, but allocates production based on volume. In contrast, a cosmetic dental lab routes esthetic cases to specialized ceramists with anterior-zone training. Furthermore, the case runs through extra verification stages — try-ins, mock-ups, and shade documentation. As a result, the difference shows up at delivery on cases where the patient sees the result every day.

What materials does Peak use for cosmetic cases?

We use e.max (lithium disilicate) for translucency-driven anterior cases. Additionally, we press feldspathic porcelain for the highest-end single-units. For cases that combine esthetics with posterior strength, we use multi-layered PEAK Zirconia™ formulations. Material is chosen per case based on prep design, opposing dentition, and esthetic demand.

How do I match a single-tooth crown to existing dentition?

Single-tooth shade matching is the hardest case in restorative dentistry. Therefore, we require photos in two lighting conditions, a shade-tab match shown in the photo, and texture and value notes on adjacent teeth. As a result, outcomes are excellent when the photo protocol is followed.

Do you offer diagnostic wax-ups and 3D-printed mock-ups?

Yes. Both are part of the Signature Veneers workflow. Specifically, we recommend a digital wax-up plus 3D-printed mock-up for any anterior veneer case with more than two units.

Can Peak handle a full-mouth cosmetic rehabilitation?

Yes. Full-mouth esthetic rehab is part of the Signature Collection. Furthermore, each case runs a multi-week digital workflow with try-in stages, single-ceramist ownership through the entire arch, and prosthodontic case review on request.

Do you serve cosmetic dentists nationwide?

Yes. Peak ships nationwide from Pleasant Grove, Utah via UPS 2nd Day Air. Additionally, we provide prepaid shipping in both directions, and multi-location and DSO programs are supported.

What scanners does Peak accept for cosmetic case scans?

Any iTero, Medit, 3Shape TRIOS, or STL-format scanner. Furthermore, we accept traditional PVS impressions with prepaid 2-day return shipping. For details, see our Digital Dental Lab page.
